Writing on Skin

What you need

A skin-safe marker: eyeliner pencil or lip liner work well. Avoid permanent markers.

How to approach it

Solo

Choose a word — 'slut', 'mine', whatever lands for you — and write it somewhere on your body before you start. Stomach, chest, inner thigh. Do it deliberately, in full. Use a mirror, or just look down. The word stays through the session. If you want to extend it: leave it on afterward. Marker takes a few days to fully wash off — wearing the word under clothing the next day, knowing it's there, with some chance someone might see, is a distinct experience from the writing itself.

With a partner

Before starting, the receiver specifies what's acceptable — not general permission but a specific word or short phrase: 'slut', 'mine', 'property of [name]'. The giver chooses a location: somewhere visible to both (stomach, chest, inner thigh), somewhere the receiver can see by looking down, or somewhere only the giver can see. Write it once, deliberately, in full. Whether you show the receiver immediately or not is a separate decision. The word outlasts the encounter — marker takes several days to fully fade, and both people can choose whether to let it.

Things to explore

  • Does writing the word — on yourself or on a partner — feel different from saying it? More committed, harder to take back?
  • Is it the word itself, the act of being written on, or the knowledge that it's still there as the session continues that produces the most response?
  • Does wearing the word under clothing afterward — knowing it's there, with some possibility of discovery — produce anything? Is that different from the writing itself?
  • Does the slow fading over days change its quality — does it mean something different on day three than it did when it was fresh?

Why people love this

Spoken degradation is momentary — it exists and then it's gone. Written words on the body persist: through the encounter, through sleep, into the next day under ordinary clothing. That temporal dimension is specific to this experience and not replicable by speech or fantasy alone. The word means something different on skin than in speech because it was chosen, committed to, and placed somewhere — and is still legible later. For many people the weight comes less from the sensation of being written on and more from the ongoing fact of it: knowing the word is there while going about a normal day, the private knowledge of what's written under the clothes, the possibility someone might see.
